Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This single policy covers every Riddlewick game — Flag Detective, Football Detective and History Detective — and this website. The games are built the same way, so the practices below apply to all of them; where a game differs, the difference is listed in section 4.

1. Who we are

Riddlewick is an independent game developer. Our games are single-player and can be played without creating an account, signing in, or giving us your name. We do not build a profile about you and we do not link your activity across our games.

You can reach us at sdtyrttpn@gmail.com or through the support page.

2. Data stored on your device

Game progress, scores and records, completed or unlocked levels, coin balance, unlocked modes and archive entries, daily case results, language, sound and vibration preferences, consent choices and cached content are stored locally on your device. This data is used to run the game and keep your preferences. It is normally removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data, and it is not synchronised to us.

3. Data we or our providers process

  • Advertising identifiers. When ads are enabled, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may access your device's advertising ID and related information to serve and measure ads. See section 6.
  • Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play together with our purchase provider (RevenueCat). We receive a purchase or entitlement status (for example, "ads removed") tied to an anonymous identifier — never your card or bank details. See section 7.
  • Content and configuration downloads. Games may contact Firebase Hosting or read a public Firebase document to fetch updated game content, artwork or the daily case configuration. Standard server logs may include technical information such as IP address, request time, app details and the files requested.
  • Daily case timing. To keep the Daily Case fair, a game may read the date stamped on our server's response instead of trusting the device clock. This is a plain request for the current server time; it sends no personal data and changing your phone clock does not create a new daily case.
  • Crash diagnostics. Some games send crash reports — stack traces, app version, device model, operating-system version and similar technical diagnostics — to Sentry so we can fix stability problems. The service is configured not to send default personally identifying information.
  • Contact. If you email us or use the support page, we receive what you choose to send: your message, and your email address if you write from it or include it. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

4. What each game uses

All of our games store progress locally, show ads, offer optional purchases and can schedule local reminders. They differ only in the online pieces:

Per-game summary, accurate as of the "last updated" date above.
Game Ads Purchases Crash diagnostics Online requests
Football Detective Google AdMob App Store / Google Play + RevenueCat Sentry Game data and portrait downloads; public daily-case configuration
Flag Detective Google AdMob App Store / Google Play + RevenueCat Not used Server-time check for the Daily Case
History Detective Google AdMob App Store / Google Play + RevenueCat Sentry Content updates; public daily-case configuration

5. Service providers

6. Advertising

Our games show ads through Google AdMob: banner ads, full-screen interstitial ads, and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch in exchange for coins or an extra life. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and related data. We do not sell your personal data.

Where required, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads and we honour your choice; if you decline, ads are requested on a non-personalised basis. Where available you can review the choice in the game's settings under ad privacy options, and you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings. A Remove Ads purchase disables automatic banner and interstitial ads; optional rewarded ads remain available only when you start them.

On iOS, you are asked for App Tracking Transparency permission first. If you choose Ask App Not to Track, we do not track you: your data is not linked with third-party data for advertising purposes and it is not shared with data brokers. We still process the limited information needed to show and measure non-personalised ads, and the game does not ask you for tracking permission again — no further consent prompt is shown during that session. You can open the ad privacy options yourself from the game's settings at any time, and change the tracking permission in iOS Settings.

7. In-app purchases

Games may offer coin packs and a one-time Remove Ads purchase. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive or store your card or bank details. RevenueCat helps us validate purchases and gives us purchase or entitlement status tied to an anonymous identifier. Coins and other virtual items have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from.

8. Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, the game schedules a local notification on your device. It is created and delivered by your device, we do not send push messages to you and we do not collect a push token for advertising. Delivery timing is controlled by the operating system. You can turn reminders off in the game or in your device settings at any time.

9. Retention and security

Local game data stays on your device until it is cleared or the app is removed. Messages you send us are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, improve the games, address abuse and meet legal obligations. Provider logs and diagnostics follow the retention periods of the providers listed in section 5. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

10. Children

Our games are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Please do not include personal information when contacting us. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, to object to certain processing, and to manage your advertising consent. You can also clear local game data through your device settings and reset your advertising ID. To make a privacy request, email sdtyrttpn@gmail.com and say which game it concerns and that it is a privacy request.

12. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Their processing is subject to their own safeguards and applicable data-protection requirements.

13. Images and historical content

Illustrations and stylised artwork in our games are original works created for gameplay and educational identification, partly with the help of AI tools. They are not official photographs and are not copied from any specific copyrighted image. Names, events, clubs, places and flags are used for identification and educational purposes only; our games are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any institution, organisation, club, museum, estate or other rights holder. If you are a rights holder with a concern about specific content, contact sdtyrttpn@gmail.com and we will review it promptly.

14. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our games or legal requirements change. The current version and its date always live on this page. For privacy questions or requests, email sdtyrttpn@gmail.com or use the support page.
